Welcome to the Llanishen & Caerphilly Hockey Club Home Page.
Llanishen & Caerphilly Hockey Club is one of the oldest hockey clubs in South Wales having evolved through a number of mergers over time. The original club Llandaff was formed in 1952 and played their home games in view of Llandaff cathedral. Llanishen hockey club was established in the 1950's and these two clubs merged in the early 1980's to become Llanishen and Llandaff Hockey Club. Subsequently, Caerphilly hockey club formed in the 1990's and a merger of these clubs formed Llanishen and Caerphilly hockey club in 2000.
Today the club operates from two sites; Hawthorn School near Treforest and Bedwas School near Caerphilly. The club fields three men’s teams all playing league hockey within the N4 South West of England and South Wales Hockey League. The men’s 1st play in the Severn Division, the 2nd teams play in South Wales Division1 and the 3rd team plays in South Wales Division 3.
A new addition for the forthcoming season Llanishen & Caerphilly will be launching a youth development team that will train on a weekly basis and play competitive mini-hockey against similarly aged teams.
The club utilises the excellent facilities at The Hawthorn Inn as a club house, which is conveniently situated within walking distance from the pitch.
